Is This You?

Who Is This For?

Who This Is For:

  • You own an MSP doing $1M or more a year in revenue.
  • You can tell your MRR to the dollar, but not which agreements actually make money.
  • Your accountant files an accurate return, but nobody tells you what to change before the year closes.
  • You bill some agreements a full year upfront and aren't sure when that income gets taxed.
  • Your PSA and QuickBooks rarely match, and nobody reconciles the two.
  • You want your salary, your entity and big hardware purchases priced against the tax bill before December 31st.
  • You'd rather keep running the MSP and have one team handle the books, the CFO work and the returns.

This Is Not For:

  • MSPs doing under $1M a year in revenue.
  • Employees and individuals who only need a personal return filed.
  • Owners who only want a return filed once a year and nothing else.
  • Owners chasing aggressive tricks instead of the least tax the law allows.
  • Owners who won't share last year's returns and this year's numbers.

100% Done-For-You

Here's Everything We Do For You

Here's how Dave and his team of CPAs and enrolled agents handle the books, the CFO work and the taxes for your MSP.

Books Set Up For An MSP

We go through last year's return and set up this year's books the way your MSP earns, with recurring agreements, project work and anything billed ahead tracked separately.

PSA And QuickBooks Aligned

We structure your chart of accounts so your PSA data and QuickBooks tell one story you can reconcile, and you can finally see profit by service type and client.

Fractional CFO On Your Side

We manage cash flow, budgeting and margin by service line, translate your P&L into plain English, and give you straight answers on pricing and when to hire.

Every Tax Move Priced

We test whether your entity still fits your profit, set your own salary at the right level, count contract revenue when it's earned and check new tools your team builds for the research credit.

Planning All Year Long

Tax planning happens year-round, not just in filing season. We meet with you mid-year and again before year end, so each move happens while there's still time to make it.

Returns Filed By The Same Team

The people who keep your ledger and run payroll also prepare the company return and your personal return, so every decision we made together actually shows up on paper.

Still On The Fence?

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you really understand how an MSP makes money?+
Yes. MSPs are the businesses we specialize in, and Dave has managed internal IT operations for multiple companies himself. We track recurring agreements, project work and anything billed upfront on their own, and we know why your PSA and QuickBooks rarely match.
My books are accurate. Why is my tax bill still this high?+
Clean books tell you what happened, but they don't tell you what to do next. An accurate P&L won't say whether your entity still fits your profit, whether your own pay is set where it saves you the most, or whether prepaid agreements landed on the books before you delivered the work. That's a planning gap, not an accounting error.
Is it too late to do anything for this year?+
No, but some doors shut on December 31st. Your salary through payroll, retirement deferrals from that pay, and servers, laptops or firewalls you set up and start using are all decided this year. The savings show up when your return is filed, and anything we can't finish in time sets up a cleaner 2027.
What if you don't save me at least $100K?+
Then you don't pay the planning fee. On the call, Dave looks at last year's return and this year's numbers and tells you whether $100K is realistic for your MSP. If your numbers say no, you'll hear that from him directly.
Who prepares my returns?+
Our team does. The same people who keep your books and price each move prepare the company return and your personal return, so the decisions we make together during the year are the ones that land on the return.
We're not in San Diego. Can you still work with us?+
Yes. Profitwise went remote-first long before it was common, and we work with MSP owners across the country over Zoom. We're certified advisors on QuickBooks Online and Xero, so we can usually work inside the systems you already use.
What does it cost?+
Profitwise doesn't publish a price. We work on clear, fixed-fee pricing, so your fee is quoted up front on the call and doesn't surprise you later.
